What Is the Future of Forests?

A recent article in the New York Times Magazine pointed out that many countries around the world are seeing a decline in forestry productivity. Why is this? Forests are being cut down at an alarming rate and are becoming a rare commodity. What comes to mind is an over-harvested natural resource. What comes to mind as well is the pollution that comes with a diminishing natural resource base such as forests, or lack of the necessary infrastructure needed for large scale farming.

One can only look to one resource, if natural resources are to be retained for future generations. If we want our children to have a sustainable world, we need to be preserving our natural assets. We need to do all we can to ensure that future generations are not saddled with debts from past generations. Forests are one such asset and should be protected.

Forests have a number of different names such as tropical woods, boreal forests, deciduous forests, broadleaf forests, coniferous forests, mixed deciduous and tropical hardwood forests. In the United States, much of our timber is harvested in the state of Alaska. Alaska is one of the last natural habitats of this type of forest. It is a place where a large number of wildlife populations still exist in their natural state, such as sea mammals, birds, deer, humpback whales and seals among others.

It is important that Alaska’s natural resources are not depleted any further, as they provide essential services to the economy of the state. With the pressures of today’s society and the increasing pressures of people who want to live in large luxurious homes, the Alaska’s natural resources are no longer enough. This will not only affect Alaska’s economy, but will also affect the rest of the world’s natural resources as well.

There are many benefits associated with forestry. It is an eco-friendly way of doing business, because forests help to purify the air, while cutting down carbon emissions. It also provides employment to a wide variety of people, because there is a need for people to cut down trees, clear away leaves, and collect rainwater. These natural activities help to conserve natural resources for future use.

If you want to start your own business in forestry, you can either work full time or part time. You can be as much of a tree surgeon as you want, or you can specialize in natural resource conservation. It all depends on what suits you best. If you want to help save the Alaska’s wildlife and the environment, then becoming a tree surgeon might just be the right choice for you.
